I purchased both the RAM mount along with the Gilsson Direct Wire Cable for Garmin Nuvi to mount my Garmin with hard wire. The 90 degree plug on the wire does not properly connect into the Garmin unit as it interferes with the plastic rib below the connector on the Garmin moount. I was, however, able to remedy this with a hand grinder removing 50% of the rib. This is an issue of the cable as the original cable does have a longer plug. Read more...

I installed this on the roll cage of my Yamaha Rhino. I was using a Garmin suction cup mount but it tended to come loose due to the vibration and jarring when driving the Rhino off road, or even on rough roads. I decided to try this mount instead, Unfortunately even the largest U-bolt was too small for the roll cage tubing so I had to clamp it to one of the hand holds, above the front windshield area. Although, it is not where I hoped to mount it, that is actually not a bad location.
Pros:
* Easy to mount. The whole process took about 5 minutes.
* Holds the GPS securely, even under rough and bouncy conditions.
* Easy to adjust to just the right angle.
* GPS firmly locks to the holder and will not pop out like with some other holders. Read more...

Installed this on my Blackbird with no problems. I am upgrading to a newer GPS and will only need a different cradle(~). Having the GPS on the bike helps watch you your speed and gives you a heads up while in unfamilar mountains. Read more...

Very secure mount for my Garmin nuvi 250. It connects directly to my Ram Mount for my camera, so I can use them interchangeably. Very good value, and great protection for my GPS
